A Career In The Indian Defense Forces

The Indian defense forces of Army, Navy and Air force are often considered to be one of the biggest prides of the country, protecting and safeguarding the land, water and sky borne national boundaries and perimeters from foreign hostile forces. However there must be an aggregate of 70% in subjects of Math, chemistry and physics.

The Air Force – As a candidate if you are aspiring for the Air force in India, you must appear for the entrance examination for NDA. This is an examination that is conducted by the UPSC or the Union Public Service Commission. The exam is conducted twice every year in all of the major cities of the country. The following are the eligibility criteria required to appear for the examination.
  • You must be within the age group of 16.5 years to 19.5 years.
  • The candidate must be an Indian
  • Only Males can apply
  • The candidate must have passed the 12th standard with math and Physics. Students appearing for the final year may also apply.
Navy - Students soon after their 12th standard c an also appear for the entrance examinations of the Indian navy. The Indian Navy can be crackled through two examinations – The NDA or the NA Examination and secondly the 10+2 B.tech cadet Entry examination. The former set of examinations are organized by the union Public Service Commission or the UPSC. This exam is conducted twice every year and has its seats in all of the major cities of the country. The following are the eligibility criteria for the exam.
  • The age limit is with 16.5 year to 19.5 years.
  • The candidates appearing for the examination must be an Indian
  • Only male candidates may apply
  • 12th standard must be completed with subjects of mathematics and Physics. Candidates who are to appear for their final year may also apply.
The following are some of the eligibility criteria for the 10+2 B.tech cadet entry exams.
  •  Age limit must be within 17 years and 19.5 years.
  • The candidate must have passed the Senior Secondary exam or the 12th standard from a reputed and recognized board with a minimum score of 70% in subjects like mathematics, Chemistry and Physics and a minimum of 50% marks in English.
